Preparation Schedule

It's all in the planning, right?  Here's my time schedule for preparing this Easter dinner:

2 DAYS BEFORE:
  1. Shop for groceries.

THE DAY BEFORE:
  1. Bake Dinner Rolls, Strawberry Cake, and Baked Beans (if making homemade).
  2. Homemade dressing, honey herb butter, and Sweet Potato Bake (Don't bake it yet!).
  3. Set table the night before for a smoother day tomorrow.

IN THE MORNING:
  1. Place ham in oven (following package directions).
  2. Place potatoes and asparagus in kettles on stove top (cover with water and dash of salt).  Do not cook yet.
  3. Pick fresh lettuce from garden, wash, dry, and store in fridge.  Place them right on salad plates covered with plastic wrap to save time in serving later.

1 HOUR BEFORE:
  1. Cook potatoes.
  2. Take ham out and make gravy.  Cover both to keep warm.
  3. Mash potatoes.  Cover to keep warm.

30 MINUTES BEFORE:
  1. In oven heat up baked beans and sweet potatoes.
  2. Start coffee and tea.
  3. On stove top, steam asparagus (10-15 minutes).
  4. Make sure all food is in serving dishes.
  5. Fill glasses with ice and water.

5 MINUTES BEFORE:
  1. Turn on music, light candles, and serve courses.
