Total Home Makeover offers a simple system for mom to keep her home neat & tidy with delicious meals on the table, and have time to spare.  A great place to start is Step 1: A Daily Routine {with free printable} and the Quick Start Kit.

My Room-by-Room Makeover begins this week, and you're invited to join me.  This week, I'm completing Step 10: Porch & More!  Here's what I completed today (with a list of accents and where I bought them).

Step 1: Clear & Clean

My first step was to clear and clean the front porch.  I started by cleaning the front door with Mrs. Meyers All-Purpose Spray and paper towels.  Often, I rub lemon oil over the wood to preserve it (not today).

Here's what to do next:
  • clear off all furniture and accents from the porch (except large planter)
  • clean by scrubbing with diluted laundry soap, bleach*, and patio brush.  Rinse.
  • dry (allow time to dry)

Step 2: Place Furniture

My next step was to spray down all front porch furniture and place onto the porch.  My front porch furniture includes:
  • 2 iron scroll seats
  • 1 small round plant stand

I placed this grouping around the front window, making the window my focal point.  The one activity zone I want for the front porch is a conversation area.

Our cat, Tippy, looks on.

Step 3: Final Touches

My favorite step is to add the final touches -which are the fun accents.
Here's what I chose:
  1. Magnolia Wreath (handmade)
  2. Door Mat (Lowe's)
  3. Topiary (Lowe's)
  4. Chalk Board Sign (Kirkland's)
  5. 3-Aztec Grasses (Lowe's)
  6. Striped Seat Cushions (Ikea)
  7. Spring Accents : Rabbit (Kirkland's) & Wooden Bird House (handmade).

Cat is optional and not for sale.  :-)
Now, be sure to show me your front porch makeover on Instagram!
